Assignment 1

This is the tallest building in Philadelphia. It is named the Comcast Center. It was constructed between 2005 and 2008. What is really neat about this building is that when you walk in there is a 2000 sq. ft. high definition screen like a gigantic television.

I find that the Bosco Verticale designed by Boeri Studio (Stefano Boeri, Gianandrea Barreca and Giovanni La Varra)is a fasinating look in to the future of architecture. With all the new LEED certifications and green initiative out there this will be the way to build the most sustainable. While featuring a small forest the building also has 27 floors of residence. My definition of architecture is a structure that is designed for and used by everyday people.

The picture I use as an example is: http://www.google.com/imgres?start=220&sa=X&espv=210&es_sm=122&biw=1241&bih=606&tbm=isch&tbnid=v8QMnVfhGT38hM%3A&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shutterstock.com%2Fpic-3455805%2Fstock-photo-bus-stop-shelter-in-arizona.html&docid=O2ja8FgW2ephZM&imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fimage.shutterstock.com%2Fdisplay_pic_with_logo%2F54686%2F54686%2C1181062930%2C1%2Fstock-photo-bus-stop-shelter-in-arizona-3455805.jpg&w=300&h=470&ei=vsnYUs3tF4iCogTHgYGoAg&zoom=1&ved=0CGUQhBwwIDjIAQ&iact=rc&dur=1265&page=14&ndsp=16
